In my goal of seeing as much of the world as possible, I always keep an eye on airline websites for good deals. United Airlines offered a weekend special to Bogotá, Colombia, where for 25,000 airmiles and about $100, I could visit my first South American country. While I only spent 36 hours there, I took in as much of the city as possible. Thankfully, I was able to meet up with two CouchSurfers who were able to show me around a lot of the city.
